Set in a racially and economically diverse city neighborhood, the Kids of Degrassi Street series is famous for dealing with the real challenges involved with growing up. Stories are told from the kids' point of view, demonstrating the struggle in the choices they make. In this episode, Martin is embarrassed of his hearing aid, and spoils the talent show rehearsal when he can't hear instructions because he refuses wear it. Meanwhile, Rachel gets upset over her own self-image.
