The John Wayne Story: The Early Years chronicles the early life and success of the legendary Western icon who was born Marion Morrison. The film surveys his early life in Iowa, his rough beginning years when he starred in B-movie after B-movie, and the beginning of his worldwide fame with the success of John Ford's seminal Western Stagecoach. The film utilizes a variety of interviews, still photographs, and film clips to tell its story.
