Synopsis by Hal Erickson
The disease referred to in the title of this episode is that old malady, the nervous ulcer. On this occasion, the afflicted party is George Jefferson (Sherman Hemsley), who has allowed the pressures of his business to affect his stomach. George's wife, Louise (Isabel Sanford), dutifully tries to nurse her husband by sheltering George from anyone or anything that could possibly make him more upset than usual -- and, typically, the cure turns out to be worse than the disease. "Rich Man's Disease" first aired on March 22, 1975.
