Ueki Tylor thinks he has it made; with a cushy job delivering pension checks for the United Planets Space Force, he'll have it easy from now on, right? Tylor's slacker plans are abruptly changed when he's appointed captain of the most rag-tag, embarrassing ship in the fleet, and what's worse -- there's an alien threat approaching. It's beginning to look like Captain Tylor will need to pull together his crew, including an alcoholic doctor, a neurotic commander, and a flighty nurse, if he wants his ship to make it home in one piece.
