Synopsis by Sean Hurley
The Hudson River and its Painters chronicles the rise of America's first native school of landscape painters. Using many of the paintings and prints from noted Hudson River artists -- works by such names as Albert Bierstadt, Thomas Cole, Frederic Church, and Asher Durand -- as well as filmed visits to the places that inspired these renderings of the American wilderness, this video attempts to recreate the milieu that inspired a legacy.
