Filmmaker Don McGlynn directs the documentary The Howlin' Wolf Story. Using black-and-white archive footage and home movies, McGlynn explores the life of blues legend Chester Arthur Burnett, otherwise known as Howlin' Wolf. Includes musical performances and footage from the Mississippi Delta to West Memphis to Chicago. Also includes a brief segment of the 1965 TV show Shindig featuring the Rolling Stones. Contains archival appearances from blues masters Willie Dixon, Son House, Muddy Waters, and Memphis Slim. Some of the classic songs performed include "Smokestack Lightnin'," "Dust My Broom," and "Little Red Rooster." The disc also contains some band history and home movies from drummer Sam Lay, along with various opinions on the relationship between Wolf and Muddy Waters. Other special features include audio clips, still photos, and DVD-ROM material.
