Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Produced by Jim Henson Associates, the Anglo-American children's series The Hoobs debuted over Britain's Channel 4 on January 15, 2001. The setting was Hoobland, populated by such Muppet characters as Iver, Hula, Groove, and Roma. Fancying themselves to be explorers, the four leading "Hoobs" drove to different planets in their Hoobmobile, determined to answer one question per episode for their "Hoobopaedia." Aimed at preschoolers, the series strove to be interactive by inviting the kids at home to help the Hoobs via telephone and PC (with mum and dad's assistance, of course). Over two hundred 15-minute episodes of The Hoobs were filmed in all.
