Synopsis by Cammila Collar

Inspired by Persian legends and mythology, Heroic Legend of Arslan is based on a series of novels by Yoshiki Tanaka. Following a war with the country of Rusitania, the sole heir to the thrown of the treacherously defeated country of Pars must assemble a group of heroes to take back for the Rusitanians what is theirs. Soon, he is joined by a minstrel, a knight, a priestess, a page, and an artist. While this six-episode OVA was still in production, ownership of the rights were transferred from Manga Entertainment to Central Park Media, and as a result, parts one through four were created by one production staff, while the final two parts were produced by an entirely different one. The fact that the final two episodes were produced with different animators and different voice actors makes them stylistically different, and so the final two episodes carry the subtitle "Age of Heroes" to signify the change, even through they follow the same story set up in the first four. Additionally, parts one and two are 60 minutes each, while all subsequent episodes are 30 minutes each.
