Synopsis by Kaitlin Elise Miller
London writer Juliet (Lily James) gets a letter from Dawsey (Michiel Huisman) detailing how the island of Guernsey banded together during its occupation by Germany during World War II by forming a book club. Intrigued by their story, she begins corresponding with Dawsey and decides to visit. Despite being engaged to a wealthy American (Glen Powell), she finds her connection to Dawsey and the book club pulling her heart in a different direction. Directed by Mike Newell. Based on the novel by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows. Penelope Wilton, Matthew Goode and Jessica Brown Findlay co-star.
