Although billed as "the Amazing Universal Serial," The Great Radium Mystery was actually a rather mediocre chapterplay about the imperiled heir (Eileen Sedgwick) to one of the world's largest fortunes. Released in 18 chapters, the serial awarded the veteran Cleo Madison star billing as a villainous countess and featured minor cowboy ace Bob Reeves in the male lead. Of more permanent importance, however, The Great Radium Mystery marked the chapterplay debut of Robert F. Hill, one of the genre's future masters here credited as assistant to director Robert Broadwell.
