"When an explosion at the Metropolitan Museum of Art claims the life of his mother (Sarah Paulson), Theo Decker (Ansel Elgort) inadvertently steals a noteworthy piece of art in the aftermath of the attack. He is then adopted by a bourgeoisie, Upper East Side couple in New York City and later crosses paths with the unruly Boris Pavlikovsky (Aneurin Barnard). The pair finds their lives inexplicably linked to the painting. Directed by John Crowley, based on the novel by Donna Tartt. "
