Synopsis by Hal Erickson

Broadcast from the CBC's Toronto studios, the Tuesday-afternoon children's program The Fit Stop was designed to encourage physical fitness in Canadian youngsters (which the country's school system apparently wasn't doing at the time). The first season, which aired from February 4 to June 4, 1974, found its "human" hosts discussing exercise and athletics with puppet characters representing a hockey helmet, a football helmet, a track shoe, a knapsack, and even a bottle of liniment. The second and last season of The Fit Stop invited the kids to follow the exercise regimen created by York University's Dr. Bruce Taylor. The final episodes were broadcast from December 31, 1974 to April 15, 1975, again in a Thursday-afternoon slot.
