Synopsis by Hal Erickson

In 1916, Broadway playwright Channing Pollock deigned to "lower" himself by working for the movies. The result was the obscure backstage melodrama Final Curtain. Alma Hanlon plays Ruth Darrell, a provincial actress who manages to find success on the Great White Way. She gives it all up when she marries manufacturer John Lord (Arthur Hoops), who has previously worshipped her from afar. Once wed, however, Lord ignores his bride, leading to a separation and a resumption of her stage career. It also leads to suspected infidelity, renunciations, and, finally, a tearful "I've been such a fool" reunion. Contemporary reviews indicate that the highlights of Final Curtain included guest appearances by such veteran vaudevillians as Crimmins and Gore and The Marvelous Sylvesters.
