Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Created by Wendy Gray and Claire Henderson, the Australian children's series The Ferals featured a cast of truly weird puppet animals. Bearing such names as Rattus, Mixy, and Modilyan, these motley cloth creatures commiserated with a group of human beings (also puppets), who were only slightly less bizarre. Garth Frost was responsible for the puppet design, while an impressive collection of Australian and British character actors supplied the voices. The 55 half-hour installments of The Ferals were first broadcast by Australia's ABC network in 1994; since that time, the series has been internationally syndicated, sometimes in the same package as the more popular Bananas in Pajamas.
