Synopsis by Hal Erickson

Produced by Australia's ABC network, The Fat was a highly irreverent, highly entertaining weekly sports-debate show. The three hosts (known as "The Fatties," though they were anything but) were Tony Squires, Rebecca Wilson, and Peter Wilkins, all of whom had extensive athletic and/or broadcasting experience. Each episode featured a guest host, usually a soccer player, while regular features included a weekly apology from a famous sports figure and a cheeky assessment of the athletic celebrity du jour (with labels ranging from "Overrated" to "Talented But a Real Prick"). Debuting as a half-hour program on March 6, 2000, The Fat expanded to 60 minutes in 2002.
