This critically acclaimed and award-winning program from filmmaker David Sutherland garnered a phenomenal 18 million viewers for its premiere telecast on the PBS series Frontline. The documentary follows the trials, tribulations, and triumphs of Juanita and Darrel Buschkoetter, a Nebraska couple struggling to raise their three girls, stay in love, and keep from losing the farm. When frost destroys the crops, both Darrel and Juanita are forced to moonlight to make ends meet. In the end, this very traditional, salt-of-the-earth family survives through faith, perseverance, higher education, and modern-day counseling.
