Her life itself was truly inspiring, as she vowed to become the first female aviator to break many key flying records, and achieved her goals time and again. On a deeper level still, Earhart celebrated and exhibited a carpe diem spirit of living every day to the fullest - a philosophy that made her a legend in her own time and inspired many successive generations of young women. This documentary offers a biographical profile of Earhart. It also attempts to clear up some of the mystery surrounding her bizarre disappearance, on July 2, 1937, amid a flight to Howland Island from which she and navigator Fred Noonan never returned.
