Synopsis by Hal Erickson
This British game show adapted the premise of The Mole to the standard quiz format. In The Mole, several contestants participated in stunts and challenges for a grand prize, only to be undercut by a "traitor" in their midst, one planted there by the series' producers. In The Enemy Within, one of the contestants was sent the answers to general-knowledge questions a week before the telecast. After several question-and-answer rounds, it was up to the other contestants to determine who the "enemy" was. Accordingly, while there were very small cash prizes for correctly answering the questions, the big money went to the person who successfully exposed the ringer. Created by former game-show host Paul Coia, The Enemy Within debuted March 25, 2002.
