Synopsis by Jason Buchanan
Paleontologist Dr. Peter Ward sets out on a compelling series of expeditions to Hawaii, Alberta, and South Africa to explore the prospect that humankind could be on the verge of a catastrophic extinction at its own behest in this fascinating documentary that poses the question "are we truly living in the last days?" By exploring two previous instances in which life on Earth was nearly wiped out entirely, Dr. Ward uses clues from millions of years ago to explore such troubling trends as the decay of our ecosystem and the alarming disappearances of various species. Studies in pollution, carbon dioxide emissions, and global warming trends compliment interviews with various environmental experts all committed to finding out just how much negative impact humans are really having on their environment.
