Synopsis by Phil Griffin

This documentary from Brazilian filmmaker Petra Costa examines her country's recent political history from the rise of former President Luiz InĂ¡cio Lula da Silva and the Workers' Party to the now perilous state of its hard-won democracy. Presidents Dilma Rousseff and Lula da Silva as well as Costa's own mother discuss Brazil's dictatorship past and the present scandals that could undo decades of progress in the near future.
