Going through some old family documents, Rob (Dick Van Dyke) comes across an unusual paper -- a certificate of divorce, issued to Rob and Laura (Mary Tyler Moore). In flashback, Rob recalls when he and Laura had been married a brief three months, whereupon they decided to take a trip to Mexico for a belated honeymoon. The vacation is a disaster from the start, culminating with hectic session before an "English-challenged" local magistrate -- and that divorce, of course!
