The Devil's Child delivers a perfunctory ending after a mostly tight, well-paced, and quite suspenseful film. Thomas Gibson is surprisingly menacing and makes a good Devil, while Dana Delaney is convincingly neurotic throughout. Bobby Roth's direction is quite skillful, particularly in the creepy flashback scenes, which are effectively filmed in black-and-white with the blood in stark bright red.
