Synopsis by Robert Firsching
Exhibited theatrically after a successful home-video release, this amusing horror picture from Hong Kong filmmaker Tommy Chin stars Simon Yam as Tang, a director shooting a commercial at a deserted house which appears to be cursed. One of the crew falls off the roof and is seriously hurt, an editor sees an anomaly in the raw footage before being strangled with celluloid, and Tang is run off the road by a truck driver who claims to have seen a mysterious figure on the roof of his car. Tang suffers from nightmares and horrifying apparitions, which his doctor believes are caused by a brain tumor affecting his central nervous system, but even after the director undergoes an operation, he continues to see the strange visions. Tang eventually figures out that the visions and malevolent occurrences are all related to an abandoned truck found near the house, but persists in doubting his own sanity. Flora Chung co-stars with Newton Lai and Shirley Kwan. Asian film buffs will note cameos by directors Alfred Cheung and Allen Fong as well.
