This Essanay feature tried to put a slightly different spin on the triangle theme. Physician Gordon Rockwell (John A. Lorenz) and his roommate and friend, Kenneth Randall (Edmund F. Cobb), are both in love with Frances Burnham (Nell Craig). Randall proposes and Nell accepts. Rockwell is willing to let things be, but when Randall comes in for a blood test, his assistant gets the samples mixed up. Rockwell's blood appears to be infected (it's not specified with what) so he leaves the country. Rockwell discovers the mistake but instead of telling his friend, he keeps it to himself. With Randall gone, he is able to romance and wed Frances. But eventually the guilt overwhelms Rockwell, and he writes Randall a note telling him the truth. Then he takes a fatal dose of poison. Randall returns as Rockwell is dying and is reunited with Frances.
