As fronted by free jazz-avant garde jazz musician David Murray, the hard-driving jazz ensemble The David Murray Quartet headlines this live performance film, shot at New York's Village Vanguard in 1986. The three backup musicians on-hand are Ed Blackwell, Fred Hopkins and John Hicks; tracks include "Ming," "Duet," "Murray's Steps" and "Lovers."
