Synopsis by Janiss Garza
Gail Kane stars in this WWI drama, which unfortunately suffers from poor construction. When Captain Henry Carruthers is killed on the battlefield in France, his daughter, Roberta (Kane), is sent to live with her uncle, Colonel Robert Carruthers (Roy Applegate). The colonel is disappointed to discover that Roberta is female -- he was expecting a boy -- and had already promised the services of his "nephew" to Governor William Faulkner (Norman Trevor). Roberta, sincerely wanting to help her country in spite of her sex, disguises herself as "Bob" Carruthers and becomes an interpreter for Faulkner. She winds up having to do double duty as niece and nephew. As Roberta, Faulkner falls in love with her; as Bob, she tracks down a couple of German spies and foils their plans. Once justice has been meted out, Roberta is happy to leave her identity as Bob behind, and she takes on a new identity as Mrs. William Faulkner.
