Synopsis by Mark Deming

This made-for-TV fantasy thriller was adapted from the television series The Crow: Stairway to Heaven, which was in turn inspired by the 1994 film The Crow. Eric Draven (Mark Dacascos) is a musician who was thoughtlessly murdered. One year after his death, Draven returns to life as a member of the undead, and with a crow as his spirit guide, he sets out to see justice done against those who would wrong others. Since Draven is not alive, he can absorb whatever punishment his adversaries offer him, and with the help of his friend Sarah (Katie Stuart), this troubled hero makes it his business to vanquish evil and support the forces of good. The home video release of The Crow: Stairway to Heaven features material that was not used in the original television broadcast; the feature-length version contains graphic violence and received an R rating.
