Zena Hammonds (Dorothy Fane) is a spiritualist who fails to see that Faux Evermore (Frank Dane) is a scoundrel only after her money. Dr. Ganally (Sir Simeon Stuart) is the concerned physician and rival suitor who tries to expose Evermore. After the two are married, Evermore is changed by the love of Zena and vows to give up his wicked ways. Dr. Ganally tries to force Evermore into revealing his deception to his trusting wife, but Evermore now works for the unfortunate in the slums, and the doctor abandons his efforts to expose Evermore when he is convinced he has changed. When Zena becomes pregnant, the plan to accuse her husband is forgotten.
