Review by Hans J. Wollstein

Universal was infamously stingy with crediting supporting casts and the crafty villain of The Courage of Collins remains as anonymous as his henchmen. Suffice it to say, the gentleman in question wears a mustache and a sneer and is obviously up to no good. Always a popular item on a program, the Universal two-reel Westerns were able to tell a story in about a third of the time it took a comparable feature film and without losing much in either plot construction or character delineation. Directed by serial specialist Al Taylor, The Courage of Collins is no exception and remains a fine example of the genre.
