Synopsis by Dan Pavlides
Yukio Aoshima wrote and directed this slapstick comedy that resembles some of the silent classics of the 1920s. Four young men and a woman pile into a jeep to take a weekend trip to the beach. The group siphons gas, heckles other drivers, and acts unconventional without malice. Love scenes are implied but never shown on camera. The title of the offbeat film refers to a submerged bell found by one of the teens during a skin-diving expedition.
