Synopsis by Rose of Sharon Winter

This film is one part of a trilogy that chronicles the exploits of the B-24 bomber planes and the men who were on board them. The B-24 was the workhorse of Allied aircraft forces in World War II. The viewer is taken on board the planes and into the minds of military strategists as they prepared to destroy the Nazis. In personal interviews and rare archival footage, the viewer gains insight into the heroism of the men who led the air attack. There is a thrilling ride inside the cockpit of a B-24 bomber that is part of the 600-plane fleet that destroyed the German-held oil refineries in Rumania. The film is a tribute to the ingenuity of the Allied air forces.
