Synopsis by Jason Buchanan
Filmmakers Lucia Small and Ed Pincus explore the human capacity for survival by embarking on a sixty-day road trip to meet and interview evacuees who lost their homes to Hurricane Katrina. With images of apocalyptic disaster flashing across their television screen, Small and Pincus felt compelled to hit the road to New Orleans. Stopping off in big cities and small towns along the way, they crossed paths with evacuees and heard stories of people who had become exiles in their own land. Trust between the government and the people had dissipated, leaving the homeless survivors without a net to fall back on in their most desperate hour. These are stories of survival, and hope for a brighter future.
