Synopsis by Hal Erickson

The temperamental artist of the title is a painter, played by Frank Adair. Leading lady Margot Kelly, a talented violinist, falls in love with the poverty-stricken Adair. Kelly is also being courted by wealthy nobleman Lewis Willoughby. After 5 reels of vacillating, Kelly makes the "right" decision-right so far as audiences in 1919 were concerned, that is. The British Artistic Temperament is so obscure that none of its cast and crew can be found in the standard film reference works.
