Synopsis by Hans J. Wollstein
Allene Ray and Bruce Gordon starred in this low-budget action melodrama from producer C. W. Patton, a former cattle rancher. Set "somewhere in Arabia," the rough-and-tumble story featured Whitehorse as an evil sheik attempting to prevent a group of British Egyptologists from discovering an ancient tomb. Despite her blonde wig, Miss Ray portrayed the imperiled daughter of "a Mohammedan desert merchant," a fact that does not bode well for a happy ending with handsome Jack Ryder (Gordon). Until, of course, it is discovered that she in reality is the abducted daughter of a Frenchman. The 40th Door was a re-edited six reel version of the Pathé serial of the same title.
