Like Charlie in Charlie's Angels, the titular Beryl Marston was never actually seen on this British sitcom, but she was certainly talked about -- a lot. It all began when Georgie Bodley (Julia McKenzie), owner of a novelty shop in Brighton, began to suspect that her husband Gerry (Gareth Hunt) was having an extramarital affair. Sure enough, the "other woman" turned out to be Beryl Marston, about whom everyone seemed to have an opinion, not all of them in accordance with Georgie's assessment of her hated rival. Produced for Southern Television, the six half-hour episodes of That Beryl Marston...! were aired from July 24 to August 28, 1981.
