Synopsis by Janiss Garza

This was an unusual Western for Universal's star cowboy Hoot Gibson. He plays Chad Pennington, extra man on-location with a motion picture company. He and his friends wind up stranded because they lose their stage tickets, and Pennington manages to bluff his way into a job as a guard for some surveyors who are caught in the middle of a water power feud. As one of several tricks, Pennington gives a shooting exhibition in which he shoots soda crackers out of his friend's hand -- of course, the gun is loaded with blanks and the friend is crumbling the crackers. Pennington falls in love with Amy Hollis (Blanche Mehaffey), but is framed for shooting her brother Jimmy (Jack Murphy). The usual gang of bandits kidnap Amy and her father, Colonel Hollis (James Marcus), and Pennington comes riding to their rescue. After rounding up the gang, he is tracked down by a property man from the film company -- the director has decided to star Pennington in his own Western series.
