Synopsis by Clarke Fountain

This gentle French Canadian drama chronicles the love a married couple has for each other. In Quebec, as in many other provinces in Canada, work is often scarce. In order to put bread on the table, men frequently find that they must take jobs in remote areas which separate them from their families. Jocelyn has such a job, separating him from Esther his beloved wife. The film shows (through flashbacks) his fond memories of their times together and his longing for the moment when he can return from the remote mining camp he works in. It also shows, similarly, Esther's longing for him.
