The first Tenchi Muyo! OVA series is considered by many to be one of the first "harem anime," that is, an anime with a plot that revolves around one, usually bumbling, male protagonist who is inexplicably surrounded by beautiful women. The story focuses on Tenchi, an average high-school student who discovers that he is from royal, alien heritage. Soon, his life is invaded by a lovely space pirate named Ryoko, the Jurai princess Ayeka, and a galaxy police officer called Mihoshi. Now Tenchi doesn't know if he should jump for joy that his house is full of beautiful women or throw a fit because he can never get any sleep.
