Less than a year after the box-office hit Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Movie, the sequel, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze, returned the four crime-fighting turtles to the big screen. Not surprisingly, this silly story is more contrived than the first, which had at least offered a little mysticism by way of Master Splinter and the turtles' origin. The comedy elements here also suffer by the lack of Corey Feldman as the voice of Donatello, but there is enough of the familiar wisecracks and cartoonish violence to please turtle fans. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 is mostly memorable for the appearance of pop-rapper Vanilla Ice, who performs his "Ninja Rap" in an underground dance club.
