Synopsis by Alice Day
This series of ten programs is directed at students in kindergarten through sixth grade, and offers information about the ways technology has enabled many key developments of modern life. The global demand for energy has put a strain on resources, and methods of alternative power are discussed in Technology Starters: Alternative Energy. Students will learn details about harnessing power from natural sources such as the sun and wind, with explanations about difficulties associated with both. The possibility of using waste materials to generate energy is also presented.
