Synopsis by Eleanor Mannikka
Modernization leaves several casualties in this modest drama about Manolis, a young man who goes to live with his uncle and two cousins, Andreas and Lefteris, just after he has completed his military service. Manolis is convinced life will be better in a place that has more job opportunities, but his cousins' lives are anything but an improvement over his former village existence. Andreas becomes involved with a wealthy woman and is seduced by drugs, while Lefteris -- lacking a rich woman to keep him in a lifestyle to which he was never accustomed, decides to rob and steal his way to the top. Both cousins are doomed to suffer from their choices, and as for Manolis himself, he loses the job he had found in a factory. These setbacks to the dreams he once had are major issues, and they force Manolis to come to some hard decisions about his future.
