Poised to kill the slumbering Tarzan (Frank Merrill), the evil Albert Werper (Al Ferguson) is interrupted by the nearby sounds of a screaming woman. It is Jane (Natalie Kingston) who, after escaping the camp of Achmet Zek (Sheldon Lewis), has been captured by Tarzan's old foe, the gorilla Taglat. Rescued by her husband, Jane is dismayed to learn that he has lost his memory but before they can discuss this worrisome state of affair any further, the couple is captured by La (Kithnou), Queen of Opar. At the temple, Tarzan is forced to choose between the two women but the still rather vague jungle king refuses to commit himself and is sentenced to death.
