With Tarzan (Frank Merrill) knocked unconscious from his plunge into the pit, Jane (Natalie Kingston) is left alone with La (Kithnou) and her sun-worshiping guardsmen. "You will never look on Tarzan's face again! Soon he will be mine," the High Priestess hisses. Like the proverbial lamb, the defenseless girl is to be sacrificed to the Flaming God in La's feared Altar Chamber. Back in the pit, meanwhile, Tarzan, aka Lord Greystoke, not only regains consciousness but also his lost memory, the intervening period as Tarzan the Tiger suddenly completely erased. The first beneficiary of this startling turn of events is Werper (Al Ferguson), whom Greystoke once again mistakenly sees as a friend. The evil soldier of fortune attempts to hurry the recovered peer out of the temple when Tarzan hears a familiar cry from the Altar Chamber. "Tarzan! Save me!" Jane screams.
