Synopsis by Clarke Fountain
The inhabitants of a small Adjarian village high in the Caucasus Mountains of Georgia live in poverty and trouble, in constant fear of a landslide. Often, they have to leave their houses and hide in a safe place. Each time, after the danger is past, they return, they work and raise their children. Three generations of farmers live in one of these houses. They are beat up and worn down by their difficult and joyless existence until finally one of them works up the courage to pack up and leave.
