Synopsis by Clarke Fountain

In this North Korean film, set in the legendary past, the frequently overrun country is protected by a magic, multihued tile, which flares brilliantly when the country is in danger. In the story, the magic tile itself is in danger, as its previous protector has recently been killed. Meanwhile, the young soldier Pomdari has recently returned from a war during which he single-handedly killed over 200 men, and his heroism and dedication to good military discipline have made him a national hero. His girlfriend Talmae's father was the tile's previous keeper. Now, to win the honor of guarding it, he must come in first at a nationwide martial-arts tournament, so he must train very hard indeed. At the tournament, the girl must thwart the schemes of a beautiful female spy.
