Synopsis by Sandra Brennan
On September 1, 1983, the Russians caused a major international incident by shooting down Korean Air Flight 007 -- a jet transporting 269 civilians including Georgia congressman Lawrence McDonald -- when it strayed into Soviet airspace. The U.S.R.R. claimed that they misinterpreted the plane as the product of a CIA operative. This factual docudrama chronicles the global political crisis surrounding the event.
