Synopsis by Robert Firsching
Greek director Christos Kyriakopoulos had not yet reached the heights of silliness he would attain in 1982's O Aftakias, but this tale of amnesia from the pen of Nikos Foskolos comes fairly close. Yiorgos Tzortzis stars as Christos, who comes back to Greece with amnesia after twenty years abroad. He goes to a local hospital, where his brother (Yiorgos Velentzas) works as a doctor. His brother had betrayed twenty men to the Nazis during the German occupation in World War II, and Christos was the only one of the twenty to survive. Christos, of course, doesn't recognize the brother who betrayed him. But his brother, thinking him dead, married Christos's fiancee (Tonia Kaziani), and Christos's memory starts to return when he sees her. In a rather convenient turn of events, a thunderstorm results in Christos receiving an electrical shock and recovering his memory enough to set things straight. Pure frippery, Ta Chronia tis Orgis is one of many contrived amnesia stories which would be best left forgotten. Lavrentis Dianellos co-stars with Kakia Panayiotou and Nikitas Platis.
