A capella group Sweet Honey in the Rock is profiled in this award-winning documentary, as well as the group's activism working to end worldwide oppression in the black community. Their powerful songs address a range of social issues, and their music is an eclectic blend of styles such as spirituals, blues, and calypso. In addition to concert footage and profiles of the singers, the film includes commentary by Angela Davis, Holly Near, and Alice Walker. This was a winner at the American Film Festival, Blacklight Film Festival, and Tyneside Film Festival.
