Synopsis by Hal Erickson
This is it. There can only be one runner-up and one winner from the Final Four castaways in the Australian outback. Unlike those happy endings on "non-reality" shows, the race is not always won by the most popular or likeable contestant. This time, however, things may turn out to everyone's satisfaction -- and then again, maybe not. It is up to the jury, who, in a 4-to-3 decision, ends the suspense and selects the ultimate survivor. When this episode was originally telecast in May of 2001, the winner was revealed "live" to a nationwide audience (and to the contestants) -- even though the decision had been made some five months earlier.
