In keeping with the tradition of the series' previous seasons, the "reunion" episode of Survivor: Micronesia-Fans vs. Favorites was originally telecast live from the Ed Sullivan Theater in New York City. The eight-person jury has made its decision, and Parvati Shallow is declared the winner, while one of the former male contestants proves to be the viewers' choice for "Player of the Season." Once all the pleasantries have been exchanged between the 10 "fans" and 10 "favorites" who have freshly arrived from Palau Island, host Jeff Probst makes a few tantalizing comments about the series' upcoming seventeenth season, entitled Survivor: Gabon.
